Rent a Triple Kayak in San Juan!

Enjoy and relax the getaway with your family and friends in nature. The Condado Lagoon, right in Old San Juan, offers wonderful kayaking opportunities right in the heart of San Juan. It is extremely special because of the ecosystem of the lagoon. It is very common to come across manatees that feed on seagrass and that live in harmony with so many other marine species that live there.

The lagoon is an important natural reserve that is protected for study and conservation as it is part of the San Juan Bay estuary. It also has a community of natural and artificial reefs that make the experience even richer. The flora, the mangroves, the landscape and how the species live in their natural ecosystem is an experience in itself. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature while kayaking in San Juan.

With calm waters, the lagoon is the perfect place to try kayaking for the first time! No transportation is needed as the kayaks will await you right on the lagoon edge. Renting a kayak allows you the freedom to explore completely on your own!

Duration of Rental

Rentals are available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Prices start for a 1 hour rental but guests can select more hours as needed
Please arrive 15 to 30 minutes before your reservation time

We are located at the beginning of the Dos Hermanos Bridge, in front of the Condado Plaza Hilton Hotel. We deliver your kayaks to the Condado Lagoon for you to paddle, share and enjoy the lagoon. We pick up the kayaks again at the same spot.

Ages & Requirements

Adults must be present to rent and paddle kayaks with minors
We have rental options for all ages! Younger children are welcome to sit in a double or triple kayak with parents. For a comfortable and fun trip, we recommend that you take weight limits into consideration when renting kayaks.
Maximum weight for single kayaks is 200 lbs (90.7 kg), double kayaks is 350 lbs (158.8 kg), and triple kayaks is 450 lbs (204.1 kg).

Wildlife Guidelines

Please be respectful of the fact that coral is a living organism and any standing, touching, or knocking over will irreparably damage the organism that takes a very long time to grow and is essential to our marine reefs. Please also be respectful of any marine animals including but not limited to turtles, rays, sharks, seals, and dolphins. Please never chase, harass, feed, or TOUCH any of the marine species. Enjoy their company if they approach from a distance and calmly move away from them if in their path.

FAQs

Can I go if I’ve never gone kayaking before?

Yes you can! The lagoon’s waters are the perfect place to try kayaking for the first time due to the calm waters. Kayaking is easy to learn, but we caution you... it is very addictive!

What if I fall out of my kayak?

Falling out of a kayak is very rare; however, there is always a risk for it to happen. If you are a weak/inexperienced swimmer or have a fear of the water, we recommend you wear your flotation at all times while in the kayak.

If I want to extend my rental past an hour, can I?

Of course! If you're having fun and want to keep paddling, we are flexible. Just let us know!

What happens in case of bad weather?

Our rentals are open rain or shine! We won't cancel your rental reservation.

What kind of wildlife might I see?

Condado Lagoon is home to the Caribbean Manatee. For the best chance of seeing the manatees, we recommend visiting the lagoon in the morning, and midweek when it is less crowded. You might also encounter sea turtles and a variety of birds that call the mangroves home.

Are there any required entrance fees for Condado Lagoon?

There are no fees required to enter the lagoon.

What about sharks?

Incidents of sharks biting people in Puerto Rico are very rare. Fatal shark bites are extremely rare, especially considering the number of people in Puerto Rico’s waters. People who enter the water need to recognize that there are hidden dangers. A number of marine animals can cause serious injury to people, and sharks are just one example. Entering the ocean should be considered a “wilderness experience,” where people are visitors in a world that belongs to the sharks. The risk of injury caused by sharks is extremely small, but it is a risk accepted by anyone who enters the shark’s world. By learning more about sharks, using common sense, and observing the following safety tips, the risk may be greatly reduced.
