Hiking tours allow you to get your heart rate up on private trails in the Sierra Cacachilas mountains. The tours are focused on small groups and personal service. Your guide will go the extra mile to ensure that your day is filled with adventure and insights in the wonders of our Baja California Sur mountain eco-system.

Choose from one of three epic guided hiking adventures on the private trails of Rancho Cacachila. Available for adults and kids ages 6+, except the Sky Trail hike, which is 16+.

Mining Vestiges Hike

This exceptional hike along a semi-dry riverbed in one of the most impressive canyons of the region shows an incredible variety of plants and endemic nature of the Sierra de Las Cacachilas. Discover extensive ruins of mining history that date back to 1800 that led to a great economic development in the region at the time.

Their specialized guides have many stories to tell you and secrets on the mountain to show you! A 5-mile hike with breaks and incredible views, made to cultivate the body, mind and soul. Upon your return, a delicious lunch from the ranch to the table prepared especially for you.

El Ciruelo Hike

This adventure day will bring together action and fun with the stunning endemic nature beauty of the Sierra de Las Cacachilas. You will be surrounded by incredible views, learn about the local ranch culture and enjoy a ranch to table lunch to end your perfect day of adventure.

More than ever, you can reconnect with nature while your specialized guide takes you on a thrilling hike filled with unique flora, fauna, and lots of more interesting information. You ask the questions!

After your hike, you will be rewarded with a tasting of artisanal goat cheese and honey collection, produced at the ranch. Following the cheese tasting, you may tour the organic gardens and the charismatic goats.

Finally, your day adventure at Rancho Cacachilas will end with a delicious ranch to table meal prepared by the house chef.

Sky Trail Hike

Your adventure will start in a 4x4 vehicle that will take you to the beginning of the hike. You will ascend a simple but steep path to the top of the Sierra de las Cacachilas, among rocks, canyons and some vestiges of forgotten mines. You will see many plants and cacti characteristic of the dry forest of Baja California. As you reach the summit, you can gaze upon the incredible view of the bay, including the window to the east and west of the city of La Paz. Panoramic photos are popular at this point. After a well-deserved snack, the hike returns via the same route through the desert flora and canyons. After returning to Gaspareño, a well-deserved lunch from the ranch to your table will be waiting.

Cancellation Policy

• If visitor cancels by written notice 16+ days prior to their tour, a 50% refund will be given
• If visitor cancels by written notice 8-15 days prior to their tour, a 20% refund will be given
• No refund is given for any reason if guest cancels within 7 days of their tour
• Rescheduling: A day tour can be rescheduled, free of charge, if a visitor requests it by written notice 7 or more days prior to their scheduled activity, only within the same season and upon availability.   
• Cancelation of a tour with a 100% refund or rescheduling within the same season is possible if a person is tested positive for COVID-19. Test results must be sent via email prior to the trip. This applies to individual and group bookings, even if only one person of the party has tested positive.
