Description

Electric Bike Tour - Hood River Valley – Lavender, Orchards & Valley Views

Join us for a scenic e-bike adventure through the heart of the Hood River Valley, where panoramic views, blooming orchards, and charming farm stands await. We’ll meet at our headquarters in downtown Hood River, get fitted for your e-bike, and after a brief orientation, we’ll pedal off—gently ascending toward one of the valley’s most iconic overlooks.
As we cruise along quiet country roads, you’ll hear stories of the valley’s rich agricultural history while soaking in views of rolling hills, vineyards, and Mount Hood towering in the distance. Our journey follows portions of the famed Hood River Fruit Loop, with visits to beloved local stops like the Hood River Lavender Farm, where you can enjoy lavender ice cream or try U-pick lavender (seasonal: mid-June to mid-September).

We’ll take time to relax in the shade of fruit stands and farm stops, sampling fresh produce and taking in the peaceful rural charm. Many guests have told us, “This place feels like Tuscany”—and we think you’ll agree.

This ride covers roughly 20 miles at a moderate pace, with the pedal-assist e-bikes making the effort feel light and breezy. Please note: there are a few uphill/downhill sections that require basic bike handling and physical awareness. While we make regular stops, the route includes sun and wind exposure, so come prepared for the elements.

What should we know about parking in Hood River?

There are a couple of options:

  1. We recommend that you download one of the 3 Parking Apps:
    1. Passport Parking
    2. WayToPark
    3. ParkMobile- (locals' favorite)

Apps enable users to electronically pay for parking without using coins at a meter or pay station. The new Mobile apps will work in all Pay to Park spaces. This also allows you to add more hours once the max of 3 has expired.

2. “Pay by Plate” requires users to enter license plate numbers when paying for parking at the Cale pay stations, eliminating the need to return to the vehicle to place a printed payment receipt on the dashboard, 3 hours max.

Do I need previous experience?

While the e-bike provides a lot of added propulsion, comfort, and fun, we recommend that you find yourself comfortable and self-assured riding on a bike: balancing yourself, shifting gears, braking, and navigating basic traffic.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Helmets are required and will be provided. Our helmets are cleaned daily and are very comfortable.

Can I leave the tour before it ends?

We prefer that you stay for the entire tour, except for special circumstances. For unforeseen events, we will accommodate your needs and keep everyone together.

Are drinks and food included in the price?

We provide snack bars (GF/DF) for our daily tours. There will also be water to fill water bottles at the beginning, and several places along the tour to fill up. We ask that you please bring your own water bottle, if you have one. Otherwise, sport water bottles will be available for purchase on the day of ride for $10 at our shop headquarters.

Do I have to book a tour in advance?

To ensure there is plenty of room and bicycles for you and your friends/family, we highly recommend reserving in advance.

What happens if it rains or is too hot?

If it becomes too hot or too wet, we will use our best discretion on whether to change our itinerary for a different direction or hold out for the rain to stop or postpone for a later date. It is our main concern to keep everyone safe and have the most enjoyable day possible.

Can I bring my kids on the tour if they are under 16?

Yes, you can! The State of Oregon requires that anyone pedaling an e-bike to be 16 years of age or older, but we offer Burley ‘BEE’ bike trailers to accommodate the little ones (2 passengers, up to 100 pounds). Please note: your child should be able to be comfortable for the duration of the tour.

Pets are permitted in the trailers as well.
