Description

Half Day Moab Rafting - ‘Fisher Towers’ Section of Colorado River

Whitewater Rafting in Moab, Utah is a must do when visiting the area. Our guided whitewater rafting trips run down the ‘Fisher Towers’ section of the Colorado River, an exciting class II-III trip with beautiful red rock scenery. Whether you’re looking for a fun family-friendly adventure or a refreshing way to cool off in the desert heat, this trip delivers.
Your journey begins with a stunning drive along Highway 128, a National Scenic Byway that winds through towering red rock formations and follows the path of the Colorado River. Once at the launch site, your guide will gear you up, go over safety basics, and get you ready to hit the water.
Our guided half-day whitewater rafting trip cuts right to the chase. We go straight to the rapids.  This trip starts right at the first rapid ‘Onion Creek Rapid’ and straight into the fun. As you float downstream, take in the jaw-dropping views of Fisher Towers and the La Sal Mountains while paddling splashy Class I–II rapids (Class III during spring runoff). Get ready for some fun waves - in addition to Onion Creek, you'll paddle Professor Creek and Rocky Rapid, with Whites Rapid delivering the biggest hits of the day! Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to swim, relax, and learn about the unique geology and history of the region from your expert guide.
After an unforgettable few hours on the river, you’ll reach the take-out point, where a shuttle will bring you back to Moab—leaving you with great memories. Join us for this fun and exciting trip and make memories for a lifetime.‍

FAQs

How fit should I be for this trip?

You should be reasonably healthy, and must be able to fit into the life vests supplied by us. Paddling can sometimes be tiring, but your guides will instruct you on paddling techniques which are lots of fun to learn. If you're in doubt about your fitness to go rafting check with your doctor before you go.

How many people fit in a raft?

Our rafts typically seat 6-7 people and a guide, this is because we run smaller rafts and are adamant about not overloading them as a matter of safety and social responsibility.

What class of rapids will we run?

This is a class II-III adventure, appropriate for beginners and first timers.

Rapids change intensities at different water levels and times of year. The trip is Class 3 during spring run off.

Should I tip my guide?

Yes, your guide works hard to ensure that you have a fun and safe adventure. They appreciate being tipped. If you feel your guide has done a good job at keeping you entertained and sharing the wonderful river environment with you feel free to tip them. 12-30% is widely accepted as the industry norm; tipping is always appreciated but never expected.

What happens if the weather is bad?

All trips will take place at their scheduled time as long as the weather permits. Paddle Moab reserves the right to postpone at their discretion due to weather or conditions they deem unsafe. If conditions or weather prevent the trip from taking place, the lesson will be reschedule for future convenient time or card will be refunded.
