What to Expect
Important Details:
- Location: Rentals and tours take place on Little Lagoon in the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. Please do not use our online or Google Maps address; follow the link provided in your confirmation email for the exact location.
- Reservations: Advanced reservations are required. We recommend booking the 8 or 9am time slots during the summer months to avoid the high heat index.
- Group Size: Rentals require a minimum of 2 paddleboards. For larger groups, please call ahead.
- Weather Conditions: All rentals are subject to wind and weather conditions. Mornings are generally the best time to paddle to beat the wind and heat.
- Mix & Match: If some in your group prefer kayaking, that's no problem! Simply make a separate reservation for kayaks for the same date and time.
Additional Notes:
- Rentals must be booked by 7pm the evening prior. The earlier you book, the better your chance of securing a spot on a good weather day.
- For those new to paddleboarding, we recommend our lesson and guided tour, which includes land instruction followed by an in-water coaching session from our expert guides.

Where do the SUP rentals take place in the Gulf Shores location?
Here is the Google Maps meeting location. Our SUP rentals are held on Little Lagoon within the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This location features calm, protected, shallow waters ideal for paddleboarding. Please note that our operations are exclusive to this site, and we are the only company legally permitted to offer rentals here.
What time is best to go paddleboarding at the Gulf Shores?
During the summer months, we recommend booking the 8 or 9am time slots to avoid the high heat index and winds that can pick up later in the day. Mornings are generally the best time for calm and pleasant conditions.
How long is the SUP rental, and can I extend my time on the water?
Each SUP rental is for 1 hour. If conditions are good, we typically don’t mind if you keep the paddleboards a little longer, but most people find that an hour is perfect, especially in the hot Alabama sun.
Is this experience suitable for beginners?
This rental is best suited for experienced paddlers. If you or anyone in your group has never paddleboarded before, we highly recommend taking our lesson and tour, which includes a land lesson followed by a 1-hour guided experience with in-water coaching from our expert guides.
What wildlife might I see while paddleboarding at Little Lagoon?
While paddleboarding on Little Lagoon, you might encounter a variety of wildlife, including coastal shorebirds, ospreys, herons, sting rays, pelicans, bald eagles, hermit crabs, and many other bird species and small fish.
Can we mix SUP rentals with kayak rentals?
Absolutely! If some members of your group prefer kayaking while others want to paddleboard, just make a separate reservation for kayaks here for the same date and time.
How much are paddleboard rentals in Gulf Shores Alabama?
Paddleboard rentals start from $39 for a duration of 1.5 hours. Prices may vary, you can see exact prices during the booking process after you click reserve.
Cancellation Policy
A credit card is required at time of booking and your card will be charged at that time. You may cancel or change your reservation at any time prior to 48 hours before your tour and you will be given a full refund. In the event of a late arrival, no-show, or last minute cancellation no refunds will be given. No exceptions.
All tours are subject to wind, waves, and weather conditions. In the event of dangerous conditions we may be required cancel tours for your safety. In this case, a full refund or transfer of tour to another date will be given. Please note: Tours will not be cancelled in the event of rain.
