ADVENTURE PROVIDED BY Rent the Bicycle

FAQs

What if I don’t get my rental back by the designated time?

You may be charged an additional fee if the rental is not returned by the designated time.

Where can I go cycling with my rental?

There are many sites to see in San Juan while cycling, here are some of the recommended ones:

  • El Morro (Castillo San Felipe del Morro): Cycle along the iconic 16th-century fort, which is located on the northernmost tip of Old San Juan. The area has paved pathways that go around the fort, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Puerto Rican coastline. You can bike around the grassy areas outside the fort, which is a great spot to stop and take in the scenery.
  • San Juan Gate (Puerta de San Juan): Ride around the historic city walls and pass by the San Juan Gate. This is one of the main entrances to the old city and offers some beautiful views. It’s a perfect spot to stop and take a picture, as you’ll see the old Spanish architecture and the entrance that once marked the boundary of the city.
  • Paseo de la Princesa: This picturesque, tree-lined promenade offers a relaxed bike ride along the city’s harbor. You can cycle along the water, enjoy the views of the bay, and stop at various points of interest like the beautiful fountains and sculptures along the way. The area is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, and it’s also close to the historic La Perla neighborhood.
  • Isla de Cabras: If you're up for a longer ride, head toward Isla de Cabras, just outside Old San Juan. This small island is accessible by bike, and it's home to a historical fort (Fuerte San Juan de la Cruz). It's a peaceful spot with great views of the coastline and a quieter place away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
  • Parque de las Palomas: This small park, located near the entrance to the old city, is perfect for a leisurely ride. The park offers stunning views of the harbor and the city walls, and it's a nice spot to relax and take in the sights.
  • La Perla: For a more adventurous ride, you can bike along the perimeter of La Perla, an area situated on the cliffs near the coastline. While it’s a bit more rugged, it offers breathtaking views of the ocean and Old San Juan. Just be cautious, as it’s a more remote area.
  • Condado Lagoon and Area: A bit further from Old San Juan, but still close, you can ride toward Condado Lagoon. It’s a scenic route with views of the water and nature, including bird watching opportunities. The area is less crowded than other parts of San Juan, and it's perfect for a peaceful bike ride.

With a full day rental, you may also be able to explore some further away options or just places that take a bit more time to see:

  • Cemí Museum: For a cultural stop, head to the Cemi Museum, which showcases Puerto Rican art and Taino heritage. A full-day rental lets you visit this unique museum at your own pace, while a shorter ride might leave you rushing past without stopping.
  • San Juan Cathedral (Catedral de la Santa Cruz de la Escalera): A visit to this centuries-old cathedral, one of the oldest in the Americas, deserves more time to appreciate its intricate architecture and the surrounding area. You’ll need the extra time of a full day rental to truly experience its beauty and the historic plazas nearby.
  • El Yunque Rainforest (if extending your ride outside Old San Juan): For a more ambitious full-day adventure, you can venture beyond Old San Juan to the nearby El Yunque Rainforest. This lush natural wonder is accessible by bike, but requires a full day to explore the trails and tropical landscapes properly.

Are there restrooms at the bike rental facility?

No, but there are private shared bathrooms in the commercial area.

Do you have lockers?

No, but we suggest you leave luggage or valuables back at your hotel or keep your items in a backpack.

What should I wear and bring with me?

Dress comfortably and appropriately for cycling. We recommend that you wear seasonally appropriate clothing, not too loose, and closed-toe shoes. Don't forget your camera and sunglasses.

Do you have bike baskets?

No baskets, but bicycle frames have a back rack.

Do you have water bottle holders on the bikes?

The back rack helps with that.

Do you sell water, beverages, or snacks at your bike rental facility?

Yes, we sell water, and all bicycle tours include a bottle of water. At our commercial building there are plenty of restaurants.

How old do I need to be to rent the bicycle?

Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Release form/ Liability form for them and ride with them. Rentals available only for participants 12 years and older.
