FAQs

What happens if there is bad weather?

If we deem the water conditions for the day dangerous we reserve the right to reschedule (safety first). Typically if it is raining, windy, cloudy, or hot we still go out on the river.

I am just one person. Can I join a group?

‍Yes, you can sign up solo and you will be added to a group at the specified time. Please note, there is a minimum of 2 guests required to proceed with the trip. If no one else registers, you will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund.

How big are the groups?

We have a 6:1 guest-to-guide ratio. Groups can be any number of guests, and we will add guides as the group grows.

Do I have to be fit to participate?

You should be reasonably healthy and must be able to fit into the life vests supplied by us. Paddling can sometimes be tiring, but your guides will instruct you on paddling techniques which are lots of fun to learn. If you're in doubt about your fitness, we recommend checking with your doctor.

Is there a weight limit?

The weight limit for our kayaks is 375 pounds, and you must be able to fit into the life vests supplied by us.

Is previous experience required?

No previous experience is required! These crafts have a short learning curve, and most beginners pick up the basics right away, making this a great option for all ages and skill levels. Paddlers should be prepared for an active adventure and in generally good health.

Is gratuity included?

No, but if you feel your guide has done a good job at keeping you entertained and sharing the wonderful river environment with you feel free to tip them. 12-30% is widely accepted as the industry norm; tipping is always appreciated but never expected.

What should I wear?

Something that you don't mind getting wet: a swimsuit, board shorts, or another moisture-wicking, quick-dry, preferably SPF-rated, clothing will work great.

Are there changing facilities at the shop?

Yes, there are changing rooms available so you can get into dry clothes as soon as you return!

Can I bring a phone or a camera?

We don't recommend bringing anything on the river that you don't want to lose. You'll be able to lock any valuables in your car, and we'll hold on to your keys while you're on the river.
