Description

Experience El Yunque: A Full-Day Adventure!

Get ready to explore Puerto Rico’s stunning El Yunque Rainforest with this full-day guided tour. As the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest system, El Yunque is full of natural wonders and incredible views. Start your adventure with a moderately challenging hike to the Mt. Britton observation tower, climbing 500 ft (152 m) at a 40-degree incline. After about 45 minutes, you’ll reach the top, where you’ll be greeted with breathtaking 360-degree views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea, and, on a clear day, the islands of Culebra and Vieques.
After soaking in the views, your next stop is La Coca Falls, an 85-foot (26 m) waterfall cascading over a massive rock formation. It’s the perfect spot to snap photos and admire the beauty of the rainforest. From there, you’ll head to a local, family-owned restaurant for a taste of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. Enjoy classics like rice and beans and freshly made empanadas. Sip on a refreshing piña colada or coconut water straight from the shell, and take some time to browse the souvenir shop to support local artisans.
The adventure doesn’t stop there. Your final stop is Río Mameyes, a protected Wild and Scenic River. Jump into its crystal-clear waters to cool off and relax after your active day. Surrounded by the lush rainforest, it’s the perfect way to unwind—whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, or simply soaking in the moment. This tour is more than just a hike; it’s a chance to experience the beauty, culture, and tranquility of Puerto Rico’s most iconic rainforest.
