More Details - Logan Creek State Natural Area - Wetland Tour

Meander along scenic Logan Creek and into Clark Lake. Peninsula Kayak Company offers exclusive access to a designated state natural area!
Being the only company with access to Logan Creek you will get to experience a less visited, still secret, part of Door County. Situated along the north shore of Clark Lake, Logan Creek features a northern wet-mesic forest dominated by white cedar and black ash. Canopy associates include yellow birch, balsam fir, hemlock, and white pine. Logan Creek is springfed, so the waters remains cold and flowing all year.  Because of the purity of the waters, Logan Creek is a designated an Outstanding Water Resource and supports an array of state-endangered plants.
You will kayak from our private launch along Logan Creek and out into Clark Lake. Once on the lake we are able to explore as much as you desire, including the option to get out of the kayaks for a hike, before turning around and returning to our launch point.

What to expect

A more relaxing paddle than Lake Michigan, Logan Creek allows you the opportunity to take in all of the natural beauty of Door County. Launching from the intersection of Highway 57 and Logan Creek (2 miles from our shop), you’ll quickly disappear in the white cedar and pine forests of the Logan Creek State Natural Area, traveling along pools between the hummocks and marsh marigolds.  Depending on the season, Logan Creek hosts a variety of breeding birds. Designated as a state natural area in 2007 helps keep the natural environment of Logan Creek pristine.
