No Experience Needed - Discover Scuba Diving in Honolulu

If you want to be a scuba diver for a day without all the hassle of certifications, then the Discover Scuba Tour is the perfect gateway to a whole new ecosystem! With no experience or certifications necessary, you can find out what it's like to breathe underwater!
Join us aboard our private vessel, the "Diamond T," as we conduct daily SCUBA diving charters to explore the underwater world surrounding Honolulu! We lead tours with a maximum of 4 divers, ensuring you can dive with confidence and make a few new friends while you're at it!
You will learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. Before you make an open water dive at depth, you'll practice a few more skills to prepare for your adventure during our 30 minute orientation!
By the end of our tour, you’ll have:
  • Found out what it's like to breathe underwater.
  • Discovered key skills that you'll use during every SCUBA dive.
  • Had fun swimming around and exploring.
  • Heard about becoming a certified diver through the PADI Open Water Diver Course.
While not a SCUBA certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.  No prior experience with SCUBA diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.

Turtles, rays, sharks, seals, and dolphins are all protected in Hawaii. Please remember to keep your distance and never touch, feed, harass, or chase any wildlife in the water. Calmly watch from a distance! Also, please be aware of your body placement and equipment when around the reefs and wrecks. There is fragile coral, and many wrecks are rusting and breaking down, therefore to avoid damaging them further, please don't knock into them!

FAQs

Are there any health, weight, or experience restrictions?
No prior experience with SCUBA diving is necessary and there is no weight restriction, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.
There will be a medical questionnaire that must be filled out ahead of the dive. If you answer yes to certain questions, you may be asked to obtain a doctor's recommendation not clearing you for the activity. If you have not consulted with a physician and have a signed document at the time of the dive, you will not be able to dive and the cost will not be refunded.
The questionnaire often used can also be searched as the PADI/DAN Medical Scuba Statement.
Can I fly after diving? **ANY elevation above 1000 FT (305m) is DANGEROUS
Flying directly after scuba diving is incredibly dangerous and could result in a life-threatening illness called the Bends/Decompression Sickness. The Divers Alert Network (DAN) guidelines for flying after diving include:
  • A single no-decompression dive, a minimum preflight surface or any driving to above 1000ft (305m) interval of 12 hours suggested.
  • Multiple dives per day or multiple days of diving, a minimum preflight surface or any driving to above 1000ft (305m) interval of 18 hours is suggested.
  • Dives requiring decompression stops are recommended to have longer than 18 hours.
Please discuss with your dive guide ahead of time what is suggested!
Does this mean I’m certified to go diving?
NO, this is solely 1 dive with a certified scuba instructor watching over you. You are not at all certified to go on our own or on non-discover scuba trips. In order to become certified there is an entire course you must take.
What about sharks?
Sharks hunt at dusk and dawn and therefore rarely, if ever, seen on tours. They are simply wild animals that also share the ocean but most often people rarely see them. The most common sharks to spot are small reef sharks that prefer to immediately leave the presence of people and boats and tend to be harmless towards people.
