What’s the difference between the Ultra-Light Canoe Package and the Kevlar Explorer Package?
Kevlar Explorer Package includes premium gear, creature comforts, and added amenities for a top-tier experience. The only difference between the Kevlar and Ultra-Light Canoe package is that the Kevlar package has the lighter, kevlar canoes vs. the aluminum (heavier) canoes in the Ultra-Light package.
Can I add a guide to my trip?
Absolutely! Guided trips are available and highly recommended for fishing, wilderness navigation, and learning about the BWCA’s history, wildlife, and hidden gems.
Does Boundary Waters Outfitters provide transportation to entry points?
Yes, we offer shuttle services to various BWCA entry points by land or water. Shuttle costs vary based on the destination and group size.
What discounts are available for children and groups?
Children aged 17 and under receive a 20% discount. Additional discounts are available for groups, non-profit organizations, and families bringing their own gear (e.g., sleeping bags or tents).
What should I bring for a BWCA trip?
Boundary Waters Outfitters provides most of the gear, but you should bring personal items such as clothing, toiletries, fishing gear, and a sense of adventure! A detailed packing list is available upon booking.
What is your policy on payments, deposits, and cancellations?
To reserve your trip, a deposit of $250 per permitted group is required. The remaining balance must be paid 7 days before your arrival. If you need to cancel, deposits (minus permit fees, camping fees, and a $35 service fee) will be applied as credit toward a future trip with Boundary Waters Outfitters, valid for up to 2 years. Please note, no refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before your trip. For questions or changes, contact us as soon as possible.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy We understand that unexpected changes may occur, and we strive to accommodate you. Here’s our cancellation policy:
- Deposits: If you cancel, your deposit (minus permit fees, camping fees, and a $35 service fee) will be applied as credit toward a future trip with Boundary Waters Outfitters.
- Credit Validity: The remaining deposit amount can be used for up to 2 years from the original trip date.
- Less than 2 Weeks Notice: No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 2 weeks before the start of your trip.
