Discover our popular Bike and Boat package, which includes a bike ride to Mount Vernon, an afternoon of Mount Vernon activities, and a boat cruise to Washington DC with the Potomac Riverboat Company by Hornblower.

Pick up your bike in Old Town Alexandria and cycle 12 scenic miles to the home of first U.S President, George Washington and his estate at Mount Vernon. Lock up your bikes and explore the well kept gardens, stables and everything the grounds has to offer. Admission to the mansion can be purchased on-site directly from Mount Vernon. Please see planned renovation for the Mansion. Later in the afternoon, leave your bike at Mount Vernon for our team to pick up and board the cruise to Washington DC to continue your adventure.

• Ride up to Mount Vernon, where you will visit the historic home of America’s first president, George Washington
• Lock up your bike for our team to pick up and explore the grounds and more during your time on the estate
• Board a scenic Riverboat that takes you to Washington DC at the end of the day.

There is so much to see when visiting Alexandria and the Mount Vernon Trail. Ride with history and experience the nation’s rich culture by bike and learn all about George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

We recommend arriving at our store location at 8:30AM-9:30AM to start the journey. The bikes will be picked up from the Unlimited Biking location in Alexandria, and you can begin the journey around the Mount Vernon Trail. You'll will have plenty of time to explore before heading to the boat ride to Washington DC.

Please note: this package begins in Alexandria, VA and ends in Washington DC. Please plan your travels accordingly!

We recommend picking up your bike around 9AM in the morning to allow enough time to ride to Mount Vernon and explore the grounds before the boat. The boat leaves from Mount Vernon at 1:30PM sharp and arrives at Pier 4, 580 Water Street SW, Washington DC at 3PM.

Ages & Requirements

We offer rental options for all ages, including baby and child accessories. If you are 18 or younger, one of your parents or a legal guardian will need to sign the Release from Liability form. 

• Please note, no customer under the age of 18 will be given a bike without an adult over the age of 18 present.
• For electric bikes, riders must be ages 16+.
• All guests must be able to ride a bike on their own (unless on attachments)
• Tag-a-longs and double trailers must be purchased with a Hybrid Bike. They can’t be attached to road bikes, eBikes, or personal bicycles.
